Song IQ respects your privacy. This policy describes how we handle your information when you use our app.

Information We Collect

Song IQ uses your device microphone solely to identify songs via Shazam's recognition service. Audio is processed in real-time and is not stored or transmitted to our servers.

Third-Party Services

We use Shazam for song identification, Genius for lyrics, Wikipedia for artist information, and YouTube API Services to find songs on YouTube Music. Each service has its own privacy policy.

YouTube API Services

Song IQ uses YouTube API Services to find songs on YouTube Music. By using the YouTube Music feature, you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service. Google's handling of data is described in the Google Privacy Policy.

When you open a song in YouTube Music, the app sends the title, artist name and Apple Music ID of the identified song to Song IQ servers, which search YouTube using the title and artist name. Song IQ does not send any personal information or account details to YouTube.

Song IQ stores the YouTube video IDs and channel IDs it finds on its servers so the same song does not need to be looked up again. These IDs are deleted or refreshed within 30 days.

Song IQ does not use Google sign-in and does not access a Google account. You can review and revoke any access granted to apps through the Google security settings page. To ask for deletion of stored data, email support@songiq.co.
