Questions
How Do I Find the BPM of a Song?
Tap along with the beat above. Four or five taps give a reading. Eight give a steady one. If you know the song's name, the Song Key & BPM Finder can look it up instead.
Why Is My BPM Half or Double What I Expected?
Many songs can be counted two ways. A trap beat at 140 BPM feels like 70 if you tap every other beat. Half time and double time show next to the result.
How Do I Convert BPM to Milliseconds?
Divide 60,000 by the BPM. That gives one beat, a quarter note, in milliseconds. At 120 BPM it's 500 ms. The delay table does this for every note length.
What Are Dotted and Triplet Delays?
A dotted note is 1.5 times as long as the straight one. A triplet fits three notes in the space of two. That makes it two-thirds as long. A dotted eighth delay is the bouncing echo behind a lot of rock guitar parts.
How Do I Time Reverb to a Song?
Set the pre-delay to a short note. That lets the dry sound come through first. Set the decay to end just before the next beat. The reverb table gives both numbers for common note lengths.
Does This Use My Microphone?
No. It only counts taps. Nothing is recorded or sent anywhere.
