Danza kuduro

Don Omar was putting together Meet the Orphans, a collaborative album built around guests, when he recorded "Danza Kuduro" with the Portuguese-French singer Lucenzo. The track was written and produced by Lucenzo, who had released it earlier in 2010 as "Vem Dançar Kuduro", a Portuguese and English song featuring Big Ali. For Don Omar's version, released on August 15, 2010 through Machete and VI, most of the lyrics were recast in Spanish, with Lucenzo keeping a single verse in European Portuguese drawn from his original recording. The word kuduro refers to a dance style and musical genre from Angola, one originally created to honor people left disabled by the country's civil war, incorporating their jerky movements into the choreography.

The single became Don Omar's second number one on the US Billboard Hot Latin Songs chart and Lucenzo's first, and it also topped the Latin Rhythm and Latin Tropical Songs charts. Across the Atlantic it reached the top in Italy, Spain, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Sweden and Romania, and held the Italian number one spot for ten straight weeks. A remake appeared in the 2011 film Fast Five as an ending song and on the film's soundtrack album.

The music video was filmed on the Caribbean island of St. Martin and directed by Vincent Egret, a frequent collaborator of Lucenzo. It showed Don Omar picking up Lucenzo in a BMW Z4 for a boat ride, interspersed with scenes of women dancing around them on the beach. In 2018 the video reached one billion views on YouTube.
