Meet Me Halfway

Fergie handled the lead vocal on "Meet Me Halfway," singing with what one critic described as an almost tearful edge that made the performance feel soaked with emotion. The track appeared on the Black Eyed Peas' fifth studio album, The E.N.D., and was released as its third single in September 2009. It sampled a drum beat and guitar riff from Yeah Yeah Yeahs' 2003 single "Maps", and had earlier circulated as the last of three promotional singles in the "Countdown to The E.N.D." series, following "Imma Be" and "Alive". Early airplay came on Today Networks' Hot30 Countdown in Australia and on radio stations across Canada.

The single peaked at number seven on the US Billboard Hot 100 and reached the top of the charts in Australia, Germany, Romania, Mexico, and the United Kingdom. In Britain it sold 517,178 copies by the end of December 2009, making it the 10th-biggest-selling single of the year there. It was the band's third consecutive number one in the UK and their fourth overall.

A music video directed by Ben Mor premiered on October 12, 2009. Will.i.am described it as a more artistic, "very arty" departure from the futuristic "Boom Boom Pow" and the party feel of "I Gotta Feeling". It placed the members across the Solar System, with Fergie in a jungle, apl.de.ap levitating on a desert planet, will.i.am riding an elephant on a moon of Jupiter, and Taboo gliding around the Sun, before all four turned into shooting stars and landed back on the desert road where the video began.
